“Sovrano” means “king” in Italian and was born in 2009 as the main brand of “Maglificio Capossela”, a company operating on the market since 1957, whose experience has been passed down from generation to generation. The idea for the new brand came from the desire to distribute a product under its name, created based on decades of experience gained as a subcontractor.

2. What makes your brand stand out from others ?

Our brand stands out for the elegance and exclusivity of knitted clothes, which are known to be made from the highest quality raw materials. The uniqueness of the collection lies in the fact that it consists only of knitted clothes. So the brand has its own specialization. Our company is a knitted clothes factory. We are direct manufacturers of our own products. We do not sell a complete image that is not made by us. So we sell only our own products. True, in today’s market this is no longer a given. When considering the characteristics of the collection, a decision was made not to mix knitted clothes with hybrid products that the brand is not a direct manufacturer of. Our entire range is based on knitted clothes. “Sovrano” is about wool, but not only. It is about the full range of wool colors. You would be hard-pressed to find another brand that offers such a spectrum of colors when it comes to knitted clothes. Each product is designed to provide comfort and sophistication, emphasizing the beauty of a woman, whatever her favorite colors or color theories. The choice of bright colors allows each customer to find the perfect shade that matches their style and mood and provides variety and the possibility of combinations. Attention to quality combined with meticulous attention to detail and color variety make each product unique, suitable for any woman who seeks elegance and novelty.

3. What are the main criteria when choosing materials , colors and creating new models ?

Creative ideas are developed throughout the year, and during meetings with suppliers and customers we try to take into account what the market needs. We are also always ready to respond to the needs of interested parties. The world of knitted clothing is so vast that no one can claim to know all the existing knitting techniques. Knitted knitwear is like the Italian language: complex, but allowing for the creation of wonderful concepts. We often experiment with new knitting techniques and a variety of yarns throughout the year. Sometimes it happens that the most beautiful knitwear appears by chance, which ignites an even greater passion for our art. Our production is based on planned work, so the real beginning of research for next year’s winter fashion begins in July. Knitwear color and yarn trends are presented at various Italian fairs, such as Pitti Filati in Florence, dedicated to the raw material – wool, which is provided to us by spinning companies from all over the world, and Milano Unica in Milan, where international companies offer the latest fabrics and accessories. These fairs are paid and are reserved for professionals in the sector. The halls presenting the trends present various yarns, knitting techniques and themes, and our style department employees use their skills to find what they can offer to customers. Along with research into yarns, textures and colors, the style department monitors the sector’s most important brands and haute couture shows, which, although broadly speaking, reflect the current range of clothing and its wearability. They pay great attention to the choice of colors – they never leave them to chance. In addition to the important trends presented at the fairs, color nuances are created by color matching experts, ensuring that all combinations are pleasing to the eye.

After all the research related to threads, textures and colors, the collection begins to take shape, combining the creative ideas of the style department employees and the needs of the customers in the creative process.

4. Describe your knitwear collection - materials , sustainability ?

The first important ecological aspect is reflected in the production cycle. All phases of the activity – from knitting to finishing and ironing the garment – are carried out using renewable energy sources. All the energy required is produced using a modern solar energy system installed on the company’s roof.

All raw materials used are sourced from Italian supply chains and have a low environmental impact.

The finishing of the garments is done without using additives that are harmful to the environment and the skin. The packaging for the delivery of the garments is made from recycled materials.

5. What is the clientele of " Sovrano Maglierie "?

The client of “Sovrano Maglierie” is a woman who wants to stand out with elegance and style. Typically, this is a mature, career-oriented woman.

6. Do you have any upcoming projects that you would like to share ?

Sovrano plans to produce clothing made garments by orange and lemon fibers and treated with natural additives in order to preserve the buyer’s health and nature.
